It’s always fun to work with our neighbors. The Blackstone Theater is a comedy venue right down the street from the HPS office. And they needed an updated online experience to pair with their newly remodeled theater space.
As part of the website upgrade, we worked to improve their show-scheduling and ticket-sales workflows to make life easier for the theater’s all-volunteer staff. We designed the site around a super-fast custom WordPress block theme.
The theater’s comedy lineup and ticketing is managed through the Events Calendar framework. Tickets and improv classes are sold online through a WooCommerce storefront with inventory synced to a Square point-of-sale system used in the theater. We built custom email templates and automated the ticket delivery so comedy show guests get everything they need before they arrive, and can check in with a QR code at the theater.
